Global PC purveyor Acer made its first entry into the Smartphone market at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month in which Acer Announced Acer M900. This new Acer M900 supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 on 2G network and HSDPA 900 / 2100 on 3G network. This cell phone runs in genuine Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. The M900 is equipped with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes it a little bulkier. This new device is also equipped with large 3.8-inch WVGA touch screen, one of the biggest among Smartphone. In Acer M900 software like Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Outlook Mobile Email and Office Mobile (consisting of Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are preinstalled into the phone. The other features of this Acer M900 handset include a 5 Mega pixel camera with flash and video, MP3 player with 3.5mm jack, GPS and various PDA programs, such as Pocket Office. The Acer M900 is a sliding slap form factor cool mobile phone, which is only available in Black skin color. On the front it sports a 3.8 inches TFT resistive touch screen, 65K colors for viewing. Its large size also makes it noticeable that it is a device that reflects quite a lot. On the front top there is an ear piece and secondary video call camera. Below the screen on the face of the M900 is a small fingerprint identification tab, the principal way you sign into the phone and access information. Cool. On the back of this cell phone there is a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. The buttons on the bottom of the display are large and provide a good feedback. They allow one to terminate or answer a call, access the GPS navigation application, or access the home screen/menu. On the right side of the handset there are three buttons one for camera shutter, an unknown button, and the power button. On the left side of the phone, you can find the miniUSB port, track wheel, and microSD memory card slot. And the sliding mechanism works excellent. The overall measurements of Acer M900 are 119 x 62 x 17.1 mm and weights around 188 g, which is a bit too much for a mobile phone.
