   hey great work on compiling XP drivers for the mini 12! thanks! i was wondering, does everything work perfectly well? because i want to buy the mini 12 but am put off by Vista! also, have you had a problem with it tipping over when on your lap because of the centre of gravity being towards the rear? cheers!

   I am thinking of buying Mini 12. Will these driver work if I install XP Pro??
   I hate Vista and this will make the machine slow and sluggish! If these drivers work, I will definitely buy it!!

   I bought this and I must say… I like it except for the Vista thing. WHY WHY!!!
   I downloaded your drivers and everything except the video driver works. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong?
   I keep getting the message that the system doesn’t meet the min system requirements.
   Help…

   Dave,

   I have succuessfully tried it and it worked!!
   I can get 1280×800 resolution and works fine,, I am so happy with it,, the machine loads so fast..

   here is the link ,,and install both drivers…

   Display driver is a bit tricky….it is about 95MB file…download and install it ,,, then,,, it make the folder called c:\IEGD … open another folder in c:\IEGD called \plugin and you will see the driver zip file … unzip and install setup.exe.. will be fine!!

   Thanks! Your research really paid off. This thing is great with XP! I did want to share with you something I discovered.

   Now call me crazy but when I first thought that the video driver wasn’t going to work I cleaned everything off this machine and reinstalled the Vista Basic software that came with it. I must say… what a difference from when it came from Dell! It ran great! I installed only the necessary drivers and the web cam software. Then I installed Office 2007 Standard. Everything ran great! I even got a performance rating of “2.9”!

   Now don’t get me wrong, multi-tasking is still a bit sluggish, but hey… I only bought the thing as a small travel companion. You know… word, excel, iTunes, that type of stuff.

   How do you think this thing will fair with Windows 7? I know… crazy!

    I received my Mini 12 this week and the video card is no longer 945GSE/GM965, it is GMA500 instead. Except the video card, there is another “Unknown Device” which the driver isn’t covered in this article. I can’t find out what it is…

    The ‘Unknown device’ is the battery, just install the battery meter and it should show up
