First Install the SATA Drivers (If you are downgrading it to XP and Getting a Blue Screen)

You may use an external usb floppy drive and use the F6 option during the windows XP installation. If you don’t have an external floppy available, then Nlite slipstreaming is your best option.

The driver is located in iaAHCI.inf and is called ICHM-E/M SATA AHCI Controller

Important Notes:

  1. In Nlite, choose the option of insert -> multiple driver folder
  2. Select ONLY x86 driver for SATA AHCI when asked.
  3. Never choose x64 driver when asked until and unless you are installing Windows xp 64 bit

  2. I bought an acer emachine e525 laptop last month with windows vista basic pre-installed. I then upgraded to vista ultimate but later on the internet was not working. A week later i downloaded a drivers and i tried to update the drivers and my laptop just went blank i am not sure it’s fixable.please help

  5. Do I need floppy drive or can I use flash drive? Do I need to install those drivers if I am going to install XP sp3? Maybe those drivers are inside sp3. I have desktop pc with sata 2 disk and during instillation everything was ok but this was XP with sp2. I am going to buy E525 with linux on it and convert it to xp.

    Please is anyone who can tell something on this subject to peace my mind?

Hey I have this emachine D525 and most of the drivers here work on my laptop but i cant find the audio driver any where this one here doesn’t work and the driver name is (Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus_Location 65535)and the Eherenet Adapter is not working because of the driver I have XP so can any one help

  7. If you don’t have an extrernal USB floppy drive, press power on the laptop, then press F2 to run setup menu, change the HDD type AHCI to IDE mode. Thats all. (And sorry my bad English)
